Damn you loogs, you got that bullshit chorus from that bullshit pop country schlock song stuck in my head.

Yesterday I had Hall and Oates "I Can't Go For That" stuck in my head, and I thought that was pretty bad, but this fucking sucks.

Thanks.

Funny that... reminds me of when I was living with my then-fiance in NC, and when my parents came to visit, they had to stay in a hotel instead of acknowledging that we shared a bed together in our rental house. That was so much my mom's doing because I don't think my dad really gave a shit.

I also endorse living with someone before marriage. It definitely is an eye opener as far as people's idiosyncrasies are concerned. I'm definitely messier than my husband (he's a clean freak), so that can be kind of a drag at times... always being reminded about my "little piles" of stuff I leave around the house. But on the plus side, if he has two espressos, he'll clean the entire house on his own. I'm quite lucky, actually. ;)

I've never lived with a girlfriend and I haven't had a roomate since college. I've been living alone for about 6 years and like it a lot.

It looks like my girlfriend and I will be moving in together in the not too distant future...it'll be interesting to see how that works out.

When my ex and I had our first apartment, my dad came to visit. I was showing him around and when I got to our bedroom, my dad said, "Stop right there. I don't want to know." and that was that.

I'm also the messy one in every relationship I've ever had. My ex is a neat freak and he cleaned the house top to bottom (dog included) weekly.

Do you all really think that these idosyncracies are necessary to know about prior to marriage. As in, is it really justified to end a committment over idosyncracies? If so, then don't you think it is possible to learn about those before getting married or without living together. It would seem that, although there are always surprises, that you may not actually know someone well enough to get married if the idiosyncracies that arise in marriage are enough to lead to separation or divorce...

just askin'.

Wait Jasmine, in your friendship with James, aren't YOU the neat one?

I just have memories of you in the Aunt Jemima kerchief cleaning the apartment he was moving into... Between that and shows, those are the only times i've seen you.

Cook for me, man! I've still got five pounds of polish sausage in my freezer. I'll bring over some dessert and wine for you and Deena and we'll make a party out of it.

That move was the biggest steaming pile of bullshit ever. I still can't think of that weekend without wanting to strangle him.

I think its a tie for clean/messy between the two of us. I think at a glance, his place is cleaner, but up close and in all the corners, my place is cleaner. The dustbunnies at his place are big enough to bite.

Jewels, I'm messy as hell. You can move in with me and we'll wallow in misery all the time. I've got plenty of Makers Mark, too.

Okay people. What the F is "an SO"??

I currently live with my girlfriend. It has its ups and downs just like every roommate relationship.
I have lived by myself and with up to 12 dudes. I think no more than 3 people should ever have to share a house/apt.

We'll see if she finds this one on her own. I'm not incriminating myself ever again.

there were downsides, but i loved living with my girlfriend.
and most of the downsides were due to the fact that my place is really little and there was nowhere to hide if you were in a bad mood.

yeah, that always sucks. my husband and i had a tiny 600 sq ft place and you do end up getting on each others nerves.

to answer the thread question, i lived with two bfs and then my husband. and i think living with someone before you get hitched is a great idea.
