Listened to this for the first time last night. Fan-freakin'-tastic. I can tell it's one of those albums whose rustic warmth and melody are gonna grow on me big time.

Reviews on their site mention Buddy Holly, Otis Redding, Van Morrison, etc... but I kept hearing John Fogerty.

Yeh, I've had this album on my to-buy list for a couple months now, but have yet to find the fucker in the stores.

Their song was one of the standouts on that recent Bloodshot Records compilation.

I have some tracks off this downloaded, but I hadn't listened yet. I'll see if I can get around to it tonight.

Finally bought this. And yeh - it's pretty good.

Definitely hear a strong soul/R&B influence in the vocals, which works well with the Spoon-like minimalism of the moozik. I don't mean that Catfish Haven sound like Spoon, just that their songs tend to sit on that same thung-thung-thung-thung groove that Britt Daniel uses - the sorta thing where you spend the entire song waiting for it to start (and it never does). Anyway, tres cool.

I didn't realize this was only an ep though. Found it in the stacks and thought "hey, 14 bucks? What a great deal!" Then on the way home was all shocked when the CD started all over again after song 7. The bastids. I want more.
