The Duke Spirit will release their full-length. So excited.

The new Low is wicked, as is the new Sam Prekop.

Low sound so heavy... there are even--gasp--hand claps and what sounds like fuzz bass. Awww yeah.

Oh, Ishy... where's that darn Roots Manuva, buddy? (Happy late holidays too)

Hi Alex!
Who are the Duke Spirit?
I can't say about the Roots Manuva yet.
I like the new Low, too, a lot, because they're my favourite, though it's not my favourite. (I've been preferring some of the tracks on their box set, lately.) They performed "On the Edge Of" in my dream last week, and I melted. "Cue the Strings" and "When I Go Deaf" stand out for me, too.

Hope all's well.

according to those wacky guys in the Wrens camp, they're still planning to do a re-release of most of their recorded output from 1997, all re-mastered/mixed, and half seeing their first non-cassette release.

Those boys're exhaustive.

Some good things to anticipate in this thread.

I'm also looking forward to the return of Kate Bush and the new Flaming Lips CD.

Please note that Amon Tobin's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is dropping on January 25, and it's heavy.

Also, TTC's stunning Batards Sensibles is out February 8.

And, Airborn Audio's Good Fortune is out February 22. (Ex-Antipop Consortium)

In a magazine I read in a shop without buying, Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand) said "If the new album isn't out before April, I'll be really pissed off".

I don't think Roots Manuva has been mentioned yet. I'm certainly looking forward to that one. In all good record shops soon.

Looking very forward to the Doves, Ed Harcourt and Mercury Rev releases.

I read in Harp that the Mercury Rev was going to be available on iTunes Jan. 28th.

Also, Riviera releases their full length sometime in February, called At the end of the American Century. GLoNo records has a nice distrib deal with Carrot Top for it. And they're going to have ads placed in No Depression, Harp and Magnet upon release of the album.

For serious? An acquaintance of mine who happens to be a huge Dischord follower, and somewhat Fugazi fan, indicated to me that the band did, in fact, break-up.

Is this album for '05 to be a retrospective/odds n' ends piece, then?

Yo quiero The Notwist (Metacritic lists 2005, does not specify month). I can't think of a band I am looking forward to more... maybe Broken Social Scene, but I have sense that The Notwist could surprise me, and BSS just more of the same which, if like Sigur Ros, will make me like the last one less...make sense?

Sharp, bold, dubby British hip-hop. I don't listen to much of that camp, nor hip-hop as a whole admittedly, but can say with confidence that Roots Manuva bests all else. "Dub Come Save Me" is my favourite, especially, with "Run Come Save Me", on which it is based, following. Awfully Deep does not yet have an American release but is coming out soon elsewhere on Big Dada.

No(!).

I'm with you on the 'looking forward to it', though.

I don't know when it's out though.
