I'm bringing it up because I see that it's being listed as a few peoples top picks for 2006 so far...

My Obpinion: this is a far lesser work than Sleeping With Ghosts or any of their other earlier stuff. I sat down with this album three times recently, giving it my undivided attention, and found that the only songs I liked was that one about the cops and a Ladytron remix for "Because I Want You".

Is it just me or is their singer's voice getting more nasal and hard to listen to? Comparatively, he makes Billy Corgan sound good.

Acquired tastes I guess.. I really like his voice and was so fucking annoyed with Corgan by the end.

It's clearly more "accessible" than Ghosts and earlier stuff... but also seems shrewder in the best sense.

I think I like it because the third wave of 80's revival stuff has come and gone and I still miss The Cure. Go figure.

Placebo reminds of too many bisexual guys i know and dislike who wear too much eyeliner and look like Brian Molko and love Placebo.

How could Placebo be your favourite band of all time? Out of the entire gamut of music ever produced, they've singled out Placebo as the best.

That just drives me insane.
