A friend told me about this on MySpace and I seriously thought he was joking...Goddamn, talk about falling off the map....isn't this the musical equivalent of Hollywood Sqares, playing gay pride parades?

En Vogue is playing Milwaukee's Pridefest. I don't really get it, of course. Are they lesbians? Is their music particularly resonant with gays, as opposed to, say, salt n' pepa or swv?

Now, Margaret Cho is also entertaining at the same event, and that, I can understand. But EV playing just leaves me nonplussed?

(Note: Sen. Smebby Loogar, I think I used nonplussed correctly.)

Easy.

gay pride parades = scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I'm just surprised that New Kids On the Block weren't invited too.

well, I can kinda see En Vogue's appeal, because of the diva-like quality of their music/videos. But Tiffany? I don't get it.

I sure many of you my age or close to it knew at least one gay dude who wanted to be Tiffany.

She's no Cher, but every generation has drag queen icons of varying levels.

lol...do we want to know why they are in plastic?

(I know why for the sake of keeping their value to collectors, but I couldn't help myself on that joke)

That'd be organic lamination. You're environment-friendly.

I think it's simply that gay people like Tiffany, sort of like how they like Madonna.

Nah, I don't think it's that simple...Madonna had a way of sort of attracting (exploiting?) various subcultures and musical movements and making them her own, the "mainstream" gay "community"'s unyielding devotion to her. Tiffany's just washed up.

I'd say "that's news to me," but honestly I have no idea what mainstream gay boys like besides a zucchini up the heehaw.

Andora? Romance?

Still, it'd be kinda cool to bump into Tiffany at Harborplace.

I wouldn't traverse a gay pride parade for her but I would totally catch Tiffany if she did a club tour.

Aww, it's not that bad. Just put on a "I'm not gay but my bf is" shirt on and you should be fine. For the most part.
