I really need to toss this on a mix or something. In my opinion, this is Xiu Xiu at its best: poppy and accessible, but also chilling and gut-wrenching.

underrated and overrated band depending on the person, i really like jamie stewart but i can't always get down on xiu xiu's stuff all the time. That song and that album are my favorite though. Listen to Muppet Face too thats a gem.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think this album is where they got it right. When they go too over the top, it borders on parody, but when they play both the pop side and the experimental side against each other, pure brilliance. Again, I think this song exemplifies that aesthetic perfectly.

I need to refresh myself on Muppet Face. My favorite from the newest album in "Pox."

yea i think La Foret is a good step, its still not fabulous muscles but i like the album.

I want this, but if I get it and like it, I don't know if I'll be able to wait 3 f'ing months. How is it?

I've heard it's their best from a few people. Join me in waiting it out until September 15 though. If you listen to it now there's nothing to get excited about when it's time to buy it.
