This is, admittedly, the first time I've looked at your site and I like. Especially good conversation.

I really like the Mirodrian Faces and Conversations series. And Good Conversations would look awesome on my wall

I like that "Good Conversation" one.

Just curious but why did you decide to add the words on top? I think it detracts from the art. I love your use of yellow and brown in it.

'Good Conversation' is a little too cafe-ish for me

'Apple' is fucking great though

you know.. no offense. but i used to say aesthetically pleasing when i first heard people say it.. and i used it a lot. now i don't say it anymore because i realize it's a crock of shit people use in place of not knowing what to say about a piece of art but to make it look like they do.

sure, something can be aesthetically pleasing.. but.. it's better to back up why rather than throwing out this phrase that is tossed about more often than not.
this isn't towards contradiction, it's just my opinion on the phrase.

a lot of people don't have the words to talk about art so i usually cut them some slack.
for me, the word "interesting" is the kiss of death.

I really like those floating bubble trees. There's a really sweet whimsical, but not silly, nature about them. Tree 01 in particular - I really like the colors.

i've done a bunch of paintings like that and usually don't put the words. Not sure why on that particular night of drawing it felt right, but it did. I both agree and disagree with you that the words distract. Depends on my mood.

if you're going to bitch about people making generalizations and then add no comments of your own on the art then you kind of undo your purpose.

So are non-art types not allowed to comment about art at all? We'd like to say something besides "I like it," or "It's good," but our ability to back those statements up are a bit limited. Would it be best to not say anything at all?

i have faith that non art types can explain why they like things in lay terms.

When our friends were graduating from art school, I used to comment on every piece by saying I enjoyed the juxtaposition between two certain themes.

And asshats ate it up. Cos, if you can talk like a pretentious ass, other pretentious asses will eat it up.

Juxtaposed in each moment's sight
Everything that I ever saw
And my one delight
Nothing can strike me in such awe
Mouth intricate shapes the voice that speaks
Always it will soothe
Rarer none are the precious cheeks
Is the size of each sculpted tooth
Each lip and each eye

Wise is the tongue, wet of perfect thought
And softest neck where always do I
Lay my clumsy thoughts
She is that most lovely art
Happy are my mind and my soul and my heart
