It wasn't "Surrender", but it was still damn good.

Anyone get this yet?
Thoughts?

Heard it on Little Steven's show yesterday, and I thought it was pretty bad.

I've got the album - it's good. Probably their most solid, consistant record in years.

Is it "In Color..."? No. But I'm assuming the people who are waiting for another "In Color..." aren't the same people they were 30 years ago, either.

It's not bad. On par with Special One, in terms of being the best they've done since they caught teh sukc after Next Position Please.

This album kinda reminded me of a more rockin' version of "Next Position Please". And I liked "Special One", but think this one's a little stronger.

To-may-to, to-mah-to, I s'pose.

I'd like to hear this sometime, I honestly haven't listened to a full Cheap Trick album since Dream Police.

The 1997 s/t is pretty damn good.

I'll have to check that out as well. Not a great reason, but I always figured if I really want a Cheap Trick fix, I just go to those first three albums, since none of their 80s work never really hit me.

If you took the best songs off of the 1997 s/t and Special One, you'd be just short of a great self-compiled Cheap Trick full-length. Maybe this new one will have the extra 3 or so good songs needed to complete it.

WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY better than Special One, which I thought was rather lame. This is the best thing they've done since Next Position Please, without a doubt. And I'm angling for since Dream Police, actually. Haven't been able to stop listening to this since Tuesday. Huge surprise - one of the best things I've bought this year. I can't believe these guys had this in them.

There's definitely an energy on Rockford that hasn't been there in awhile.

Also - for those people who're on yourmusic.com...they have the remasters of "Dream Police" & "All Shook Up" now. Just FYI for those who might be interested.

I agree with your assessment, DD.
