 Post subject: help me NOW: dvd disc question

mac g4.
when i put a disc in it doesn't show up on my desktop and then the computer rejects it without any kind of a warning or comment. why?

i usually ask my son for help but he's still asleep.

I've had that happen plenty of times. If it's a burned disc, that could be it. Sometimes for absolutely no reason both my imacs hate certain discs. Try rebooting and giving it another chance.

oh, that's another problem all together. I've had bad batches of discs, might not be a computer thing at all.
