I'm not convinced that Loose is not some calculated attempt to rejuvenate her stagnant career after Folklore barely went gold. But it's not a completely grating listen.

If half of the albums we love on this board went gold...

Will post comments soon.

Naw, not really. I just got a kick out of walking into an HMV after having recently worked at a super indie store and purchased two of the most pop "new releases" they have. I felt like such a little office-working-business-woman type.

My last two purchases before that were records that even the indie record store clerks hadn't heard of.

I like contrast. :)

fair enough. i would choose a office-working-business-woman who likes good pop music over an indie music lady anyday (just a general rule of thumb, not meant as a diss or anything)

I said that a little tongue-in-cheek for constrast.

6 months ago I was a poor indie-record-store clerk who had to deal with *ssholes coming in playing "stump the record store clerk". Like I give a sh*t anymore whether I know about every frickin' band in existence.

More importantly, what did you think of the Nelly album? I heard a bit more of it and it is pretty great pop.

Yeah, I like. Haven't had a chance to listen all the way through yet.
We listened to part of it last night and then switched to the Shakira I bought for Senor Six... the production on Furtado's record made Shakira's record sound like a demo.

Chris Martin from Coldplay and I bumped into each other in Miami at the VMAs. I was recording with Timbaland. It's kind of ironic, because just the week before, all Tim would play in the studio was [Coldplay's album] X&Y — Tim actually listens to a lot of rock music — so I got [Martin] to come to the studio. At first he was nervous, because Tim kept calling Chris "Coldplay," like, "Hey, Coldplay!" and "Coldplay's here!"

maybe its just me but i found hilarious

Anyone see Furtado on the Today show? I just watched it on Tivo and yes, she's pretty, but her mouth is scary. The right side of her teeth are almost gross. Maybe it was just a weird angle? The songs she did sounded decent. (Bird, Promis, & Turn the lights)
