I just got this recently. It will be certainly in my top 5 and is a contender for #1 this year for me.

I am really enjoying this album. It is beautiful. It is one of those albums, upon first listen, that stirs memories and has me recalling emotions and moments of pain and love and life. Anyway, sorry for the pretentiousness. "My Lover Will Go" is amazing.

EDIT: I have to give ms. katie, a princess credit for posting that video a few months back. It got my interest piqued. Now I no longer have to be piqued and enjoy it on my own.

actually. I dont know of a RIYL for her. It's not she's this uber-original artist, its just that I can't think of anyone to compare her to. Sorry. It's singer/songwriter stuff...but upon first listens, no one sticks out in my mind as to who she sounds like.

Currently on listen 2x of this, I am digging it and really pissed my cd burner is shot, as I would like to hear it while not strapped to my CPU

EDIT: The only thing I can think is that it was released in her native land in 2004. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure that we didn't have the luxury of getting this until this year.

Yea, it was re-released but only released here in the US in 2005.

Ane Brun co-owns, I believe, a label with The Tiny called DetErMine Records...and is distributed by V2.

This is great. I havent figured out where it will go on the top ten list, but its in there. Voice sounds a little like Nelly Furtado meets Nellie McKay or something. Excellent disc.
