Raul Campos hosts an evening with NORTEC COLLECTIVE and Banda at 8 pm.

KCRW is partnering with Grand Performances, Southern California's largest presenter of free performing arts programs, with a primary focus on bringing together the diverse peoples of Los Angeles for concerts celebrating the cultural contributions of our community's peoples. California Plaza holds 6000-plus people at this series of free performing arts programs. More information about Grand Performances is online at www.grandperformances.org.

Sounds Eclectico 2’s media partner is Tu Ciudad Magazine, celebrating its one-year anniversary with its first-ever “Best of Latino LA” issue, which named Raul Campos Best Non-Commercial Radio DJ (Nocturna weeknights at 10 pm on 89.9; weekends on KCRWMusic.com.)

KCRW has long been a champion of Latin Alternative music. KCRW’s most recent CD Sounds Eclectico is a compilation of live performances by Latin alternative artists recorded during Morning Becomes Eclectic, and was released in 2005 by Nacional Records.

I like sidestepper and was planning to go to that show. I'm not a big nortec collective fan though.

Sould be pretty great as well. I've seen Kékélé (they are a congolese rhumba band) before and they put on a great show.

I'm tentatively planning to go but it all depends on whether I'm not too drunk to get there. Sidestepper is playing Temple Bar also so I may just catch him there if this ends up being inconvenient.

It's so fuckin' hot right now that I don't wanna move. Maybe I'll be up to it once it starts to cool down.

I don't really care though. I've got tix to see Kinky open for Manu Chao next month and Sidestepper is playing Temple Bar tomorrow.

Ha! That is so funny because I heard my PDA alarm go off around the same time. I've been outside watering the yard...don't think I'm going tonight.

i was at band of horses. y'all didn't miss much at all.

try being in the valley for 4 hours.... oh my fuckin gawd, i don't know what i was thinking going there - but it was great seeing the old partyheads from back in the day.... we got over to downtown la in time and omg it was PACKED!!!!

sidestepper was great, very mellow though... then we went on a mission to find a bar (but of course) and kinky brought it. i have some pictures which i will upload tomorrow when i'm more sober.

it was a very diverse crowd, but man, cali plaza in downtown la is an awesome venue for showsx...l they ]need to have more shows there!

Wasn't Band of Horses on Friday night? And what d'ya mean? They weren't good live?
