my maryland team has literally no excuse for playing as shitty as it has. last year was supposed to be the "warm up" year culminating with the acc championship win, and now.... suck. they'll get out of their funk. eventually. however, i have been a bit spoiled in my tenure at the school, as my freshman year was the national championship year.

god i hate duke.

Bogut is definitely the real deal. Living near Salt Lake, I get to see most of his games---he's a great player. A certain lottery pick.

so the terps had a bad two game stretch against unc and wake. let's not forget we are talking about the defending acc champs here. they'll pick it up and get back into the top 25.

Let's keep in mind that Maryland also lost to Wisconsin and George Washington. The Wake and Carolina games were over at the half, and so far their biggest quality wins are against Temple and Florida State. After a 1-2 start in the league, they may struggle to get in the tournament. They had a nice run in the ACC tournament last year but they were about 19-12 overall.

Seriously, you mentioned pretty much every team but NC State and Clemson. And while NC State hadn't been playing well until tonight, just a few weeks ago we were the 9th team in the nation, rounding out the first time in history that a conference had 5 teams in the Top 9. However, this was before there was a flu bug going through the team and we lost our starting point guard and subsequently were on a 4 game losing streak.

However, we should have won on Thursday against Duke and we won today against Ga Tech. Once our PG comes back and we are at full strength, we will make some noise in the ACC before it is all said and done. With the win over Tech tonight, hopefully it will turn things around.
