Heard about these guys here, so when I was perusing the used bins at Tower, this popped out at me. 99 cents.

Have you heard it? It's only got 4 songs on it- 10:1, Interruptions, Wait For It and Crush The Camera. From 2005. I'd listen to it, but I'm too enthralled with Belarus doing Here, There And Everywhere from Mojo's Beatle tribute disc, Revolver Reloaded.

I'm kinda on the fence about them

I thought their first album was good but not great, then I saw them live opening for A.C.Newman and they we're better than I expected so I had high hopes for their second album and if anything I like it less than the first.

I've only heard 10:1 out of those four, but I love their LPs.

And I like Rogue Wave a lot. Like their first disc better than the second, though.

That's an EP they released just prior to the second album. '10:1' being the first single off 'Descended Like Vultures'. I haven't heard the other b-sides off that, or the second album in its entirety, but the first one is great.

The Shins comparisons are pretty spot-on, though.

I thought the first was pretty good. But I didn't bother with the 2nd one for some reason.

Descended Like Vultures is probably my favorite. They're great live, too. I've seen them twice this year.

1st album was good. 2nd album is boring, and I thought they were somewhat interesting live when they had the cute girl in the band but now, I just think they're boring to watch. Lots of folks like them though.
