Good choice. Don't like it as much as Elk-Lake Serenade, but still give it a spin from time to time. That song about Susan Smith killing her kids, though, just creeps me out.

Hasn't really stood the test of time too well, but damn, a few of those tunes are still pretty impressive (esp. bad as they seem). I thought I remember it coming out in the spring of 96 though? There was a Bob Mould-hosted 120 Minutes that featured "bad as they seem" right at the top, which I remember taping that May.

This was a good, mopey record to have along for a break-up...

As I've mentioned several times, I very much respect the artist but have a hard time handling his mumbling delivery.

This is exactly the way I feel, 'Bad As They Seem' still sounds great.; I listened to the whole album about 2 months ago and promptly shelved it for another couple of years.

That's what AMG says, but my cd has a 1995 copyright on it. I didn't buy it when it first came out so I don't know.

I like Elk-Lake Serenade more too, but it was thunderstorming out and lighting was flashing around the yard, so this seemed fitting.

Speaking of Hayden, when's he gonna put out a new album? Or did he decide to go out on top, after I ranked Elk-Lake Serenade the #1 album of 2004?

Thanks for making me feel not quite as dorky for thinking the EXACT SAME THING when I saw the '95 release date. I taped that one, too. From early '96-mid '97 I had quite the library of 120 Minutes episodes.

As to the album; wasn't intrigued enough back in the day when I heard a few songs but I might cotton to it now that I've aged and mellowed, relatively speaking.
