anybody else see this show?
we were all left pretty much speechless.
i still cant begin to describe how amazing this show was.
my aching muscles were a testament to how much dancing we did.
still hurting, 3 days later.

Lightning Bolt is one of the best live bands.

Really wish I could see the Boredoms.

I wanted to come down for this show, but I opted for vacation instead. Glad to know it was a banger, one in which I wish to have participated.

The couple times I've seen Lightning Bolt were kind of disappointing. Perhaps it was circumstantial, perhaps it was who they were following, but it was twice less mayhem than I had dreamed.

i think LB were good - i mean, they were themselves, which for me is enough.
the real treat of the night [my night, my week, my month, my year, possibly my life?] were boredoms.
now, mind you i havent seen boredoms in about 14 years, since the era of pop tatari, and the last time i saw eye on stage was upstairs at the old knitting factory on houston st, desperately swallowing a microphone while john zorn bleated his alto-punk-skronk.
this time, eye emerged with 2 glowing white orbs which were somehow wired to his midi-controllers [assumedly, couldnt actually see his whole rig] to produce diff't sounds as he swung them around like he was conjuring fire.
then the drumming started. breakneck speed, jungle rhythms, 3 full kits simultaneously rocking the FUCK out of webster hall.
we very quickly moved closer to the stage to dance, and 2 hours later emerged sweaty, sore, and euphoric.
wandering around the east village after the show, we saw tons of people who had that same glazed look.
hoped some of them were board members here.

Yeah, it would've been the Boredoms I'd have wanted to see. I had comp'd tickets to see them at Victoriaville last spring but bad weather and too much driving kept me from it. Never heard too much about that show, good or bad. Your review makes me jealous, though. I need a show to let loose at like that.

Sounds like a hoot. Saw them perform @ End Times Fest a few weeks back, and though they blew the doors off the tiny Turf Club (for a meager 65 min), it sounds like you were treated to an even greater spectacle.

And I'll echo the above re: the disappointing LB performance. Equipment failure throughout and obnoxious youngsters in the audience made for a substandard show. Had to rent LB: Power of Salad to get the proper experience.

I hope to see BG's side project Wizardzz, if they ever decide to tour.

Wizzards are not that exciting in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing! Not usually a proponent of the synthesizer, but these guys bang the keys. I look forward to hearing the new direction post-Hidden City.
