BG: Yeah, I don't get it either. I'd hope he's got something better than that Jewels has a right not to like Jay Farrar. I mean everyone gets that Jewels has a right to his own opinion but it would seem that MC should have a right to his own opinion that that Jewel's opinion is bunk.

There was no opinion stated. Please read my previous post.

It prolly would've been better if I would have just said THIS IS HOW I FEEL about Jay & Bob and in no way should reflect on Jewels and/or his opinion. (which I respect btw)
I apologize if I came across in a derogatory manner. It's ironic cos most of friends and fellow music peers get frustrated with me cos I tend NOT to opine or judge others and their musical thoughts. Won't do it. I have a hard enough time just dealing with my own ideas. For the record - I like :
Jay Farrar - Bob Dylan - Jewels

Funny, people say the same thing about Bob Dylan's voice. I don't think I agree.

That's a slight improvement (if only because of the additional details you added in your last post), but it still doesn't make much sense. You don't agree that people don't like his voice?

This would work:

"I can't stand his voice or his sense of rhythm or melody."

"Funny, people say the same thing about Bob Dylan's voice. I happen to enjoy their voices."

My problems with your post were only grammar-related, not opinion-related.

Little picky isn't ?
1. - I don't like Dylan
2. - I don't agree cos I like Dylan.

Some people may like Natural Mike for correcting someone's grammar on a BULLETIN BOARD POSTING even when the general point is understood.

I think they're wrong.

Fuck it. The purpose of language is to communicate. Caputo's position was communicated with clarity. So what's the purpose of this school marm lesson by a two-bit grammar nazi?

I corrected it because it didn't make any sense.

Except the intent of the post was obvious, so it did make sense.

And btw - a sentence that hops from "one thing" to "different kind of beast" isn't exactly a shining example of mastery over metaphor.

EXACTLY

If Poster A said "I Believe the Earth is the shape of a rhombus" and Poster B said "You're Wrong" would you really think that Poster B was in agreement that the Earth is the Shape of a rhombus but just didn't believe that Poster A wasn't one of those crazy the Earth is round types?

All I did was question his error. It wasn't a typo, so perhaps he wasn't aware of the mistake that was made. I questioned and corrected him so that perhaps he will not make the same mistake in the future. Radcliffe questioned me, causing me to go back and evaluate what I wrote earlier. I'm a better person because of that, as I now have one less questionable sentence attached to my name.

No - this is not even close to being roughly equivalent to the situation that I dealt with earlier. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
