So, we get a band like The Walkmen, to come to a state like ALabama, and they are playing the night of the fucking Primary.

I am destined to never see a show again.

A dude me and Bloor know's band is playing in Mobile April, 1, and I have to be at a black tie ball.

I know your pain. Hadn't had a decent concert here in a long ass time. Finally, Lucero comes to Baton Rouge and it's on a Tuesday. No way to make that work.

Well, the first single off the new record is called "Louisiana." Mayhaps they're planning a regional re-orientation away from the cold, bitter NE.

The show they played in Baton Rouge was one of the best I've ever been to.

I have a guest list + 1 to that show tomorrow night. Alas, I'm not going. How much does that suck? I hear they're only being allowed to play about 20 minutes though.

Ermm...I don't understand this...Walkmen are going to play at a Hotel Bar?! (i.e. Tribeca) I've never been there but I *think* it is at the Omni...and looking at their site, they have like the same local bands that have been playing in this region for 30 years.

http://www.mittysnightclub.com/index.html

They have mid-week singles parties for gawd's sake. This just can't be true. Am I actually going to see another band at a weird venue and be like one of 10 people who show up? Why am I so freaked out about this?!? And who is Bobby Bare, Jr.?

Dates:

07-21 Benicassim, Spain - Benicassim Festival
07-29 Chicago, IL - Union Park (Pitchfork Music Festival) *
08-11 Newport News, VA - Tribeca #
08-12 Richmond, VA - The Canal Club #
08-13 Raleigh, NC - Lincoln Theatre #
08-15 Atlanta, GA - The Loft #
08-16 Columbia, SC - Headliners #
08-17 Charlotte, NC - Visulite Theatre #
08-18 Charleston, SC - Music Farm #
08-21 Birmingham, AL - Zydeco #
08-22 Memphis, TN - Hi Tone #
08-24 Orlando, FL - The Social #
08-25 Miami, FL - Studio A #
08-27 Brooklyn, NY - McCarren Park Pool %
08-28 Tampa, FL - Orpheum #

It´s true. I think think the problem is them putting a guitar in Hamilton´s hands. When he´s holding the guitar he´s a damn statue. On the songs where he´s not burdened with it, he´s dynamic, energetic, all over the place.
