That's exactly what I do when I want to give the illusion that I'm listening. 'Cuz I'm not.

Oh... and the use of the word "Cheers" as a replacement for thank you. I like the occational drink now and then, but for some reason the use of that expression makes the person using it sound like they're an alcoholic.

what's wrong with alcoholics?

This is the very first thing I thought of. Mostly because of David Cross's comedy album "Shut Up You Fucking Baby". If you haven't heard this then go get it right the fuck now. You will literally shit your pants.

Kissing an alcoholic is like licking the bathroom floor.

I'll have to remember that the next time I get lonely.

people who can't spell Hola (or perhaps I am uninformed as to another meaning of Holla)

"orientated" instead of "oriented"

general mass/count, subject verb agreement problems..."There's 40.." "a little" when "few" is called for

presenters and speakers who say "this piece"... meaning a theme, issue, goal...as in "now Jamie's going to talk about the profit piece..."

e-writers who refuse to capitalize

(and this exercise is not claiming superiority, but rather a confession of peeves, annoyances... that may or may not have any sound basis.)

A friend of mine says 'in under' a lot. Such as, "the book is in under the table".

I never understood why she needed to say 'in' at all.

That's all I can think of.

Along these lines: "documentation" instead of "documents"

An advance apology to the Senator for the use of 'synergistic' in one of my shmoo-poll blurbs. Hey, at least it's not in a corporate context.

Don't you hate it when somebody leaves out question marks when they type a question. That really gets on my nerves. Who's with me.

EDIT: and calling someone an "old soul."

EDIT: and "wintry mix."

i think that it's intended as a colloquial form of "holler" as in a hollerin' contest.

I cuss like a champ but rarely if ever say "Blow me."

On the other hand, it's one of my Top 10 Things To Say ever. Probably Top 3.

My friends' impressions of me usually consist of them saying "blow me." I once edited together a videotape for a friend's party which consisted of nothing but me popping into frame and saying "blow me" in silly voices for about 5 minutes.

<-- I've even considered getting it on a license plate.
