However, labelling someone because of their mistakes is not something that I think is fair.
i will def give you the 'filter' argument. yr right on about that to a certain extent.
but as for the above, how many times can someone make the same mistake before they are 'fairly' labeled?
if i recall correctly, this isnt the first time he's said something like this, is it?
Actually, I don't know how many times he's done it. I have heard bits and pieces from sources like Entertainment Tonight and that other show that's just like ET.
I think that labelling based on mistakes shouldn't ever happen, in an ideal world. Obviously it will happen. Now, if he started supplementing his outbursts with tossing Jews into a homemade gas chamber, sure call him anti-semitic. However, the real process should be getting someone to address the alcoholism rather than just saying he's a jew-hater. I am not saying I don't do it. I have seen plenty of dudes get extremely violent when drunk over and over again and plenty of girls get "exploited" or taken advantage of because of their intoxication to know that I too will label people. But I guess I try and look at the root cause. And for Mr. Gibson, I don't think it is a deep seeded hatred of Jews, but certainly a much bigger issue than that, as it relates to alcoholism. He can just be an idiot and disrespected because of making anti-semitic remarks, but he can actually do some real physical damage due to the alcoholism.
