Anyone seen Marebito? Is it any good? Does it stand up to the reviewer remarks that it is one of the best contemporary horror films?

Also, what is the name of that western with a handful of musicians staring in it? No, I am not talking about Gunslinger with David Bowie. I have seen it discussed here before but I can't remember what it is called or who is in it. Any help will be immensely appreciated.

I'm guessing you're thinking of Alex Cox's Straight to Hell with Joe Strummer, the Pogues, Elvis Costello and more probably making up the movie as they go along.

Gawd, Straight To Hell is a mess, but it's almost worth watching to witness exactly how shrill and truly annoying Courtney Love is. Plus she's at her pre-plastic surgery fugliest, so there's some giggle value in that.

I didn't care much for Marebito, or his Ju-On stuff either. Asian horror is so frickin' stale now... and has been for years.

Watch Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure and/or Kairo instead!

I haven't seen Marebito yet. I think it might be in my queue though.

I just saw R-Point which I thought was really good.
