Here's a list of some of the new features in phpbb3, which we will eventually move to (that is, once it's in production status). You'll notice some oft-pined-for items.

* Attach files to PMs (note that I may turn this off so as not to host whatever filth you guys post on our servers)

* Attachments in posts and PMs

User Control Panel
* Manage subscribed topics & forums
* Manage bookmarked topics
* Manage saved drafts
* Manage private messages
* Manage usergroups
* Manage friends and foes

Friends and Foes
* Add other members as friends or foes
* Posts by foes are hidden (not sure I'd turn this on either)
* Friends are shown in friends list

More Improvements For Users
* Bookmark topics
* Subscribe to forums
* Jabber/xmpp support for notifications
* "You got beaten at posting notification"

Any ETA on when this might take place, A-Dub? Also, might I suggest allowing the features you are considering deactivating, and simply removing them from individual violators on a case-by-case basis? Sending files via PM would be fantastic!!!

You know this would be everybody. I was kidding when I said I was concerned about "filth"--I can't afford the liability (or probably the bandwidth) that would come with actually hosting the kinds of things people here swap in PMs. And I sure as hell don't have time to police it.

like if 2 people are posting simultaneously, it will tell the person who clicks "send" last that they were beat to the punch, and ask them whether they would still like the post to go up. i think.
