LA Phil Presents James Brown in a one-of-a-kind concert, as the Godfather of Funk revisits his jazz-flavored 1969 album, Soul On Top. Backed by a big band led by Christian McBride, with the original arrangements by Oliver Nelson, Brown sings standards and vamps up one or two of his classics with swinging style.
