..you are allowed into clubs underage as long as you don't drink.

This isn't true, is it.

Can someone in the know post here so i can prove her wrong?

it totally depends. but in some sense yes, many clubs are 18+ and you get a wristband if you are 21+ and, therefore, allowed to drink. But it varies SO SO much - state-to-state, club-to-club

Yup the ol' "18 to party, 21 to drink" rule in effect.

This is not true in all areas. Champaign IL, for instance, is 19+ to enter and 21+ to drink for "regular" bars. At least that was the case from 1996-2000 when I was there.

Ya, in more rural states this is still the case. I think Wiscy is still this way

In some college towns, this is true.

it does suck, why is it at 15 I had to pay taxes from my minimum wage job, but I couldn't have a beer at the end of the day?

or at 18, when I could vote to decide on the fate of the country, but I couldn't have a beer when it all turned to shit. not to mention I could now be tried as an adult and considered an adult...but I still can't have a drink.

Shit, I've been to weddings where the champagne toast would have been considered illegal.
