That clip is awful, Bob.

The fat dude interviewing Tommy is Joe Pedicino (who actually lives not far from me) who used to host what had to have been the greatest wrestling show EVER that used to come on in Atlanta. It started at 8:00 PM (right after the 2 hour NWA/WCW show on TBS) on saturday nights and went something like this:

8-9: WWF
9-10: Mid South/UWF
10-11: World Class
11-12: Mid Southern (Memphis)
12-1: Florida Championship Wrestling (with Gordon Solie)
1-2: Pacific Northwest Wrestling

There may have been some other promotions mixed in too from time to time.

Man, the UWF was like the fucking 1927 Yankees, Murderers fucking Row.

And, dude, MENTIONING Gordon Solie is worth like 56 years of hard labor. So, see you in Attica.

I'm about to drive to RVA, and get on a fucking plane. This hangover is a rat fuck beast.

The next BlooGAR Show (a.k.a. COKE OR SMOKE???) should be a special wrestling edition with wall-to-wall reminiscing about the glory days from the early/mid-'80s.

I was actually thinking this too, Bob. Maybe you can call in and weigh in on the Mike Von Erich "toxic shock" incedent? Maybe he had dat tampon in his butt?

Also, I will warn you that Yail and I could, and have gotten off on wrestling tangents for HOURS. And, I think this dovetails nicely with our "It was a time when No meant Yes" revelation.

Dude, I would warn people like TGWP that Pedecino lives near you. I wouldn't want that guy within 1000 yards of my estate.

Good Gawd...in that "Santa Claus" clip ol' Ric looks like he could keel over at any minute. The dude's about to stroke out.

My wrasslin' memories are more of the Kansas City, "All Star Wrestling" variety...Bulldog Bob Brown, etc.

shit, I watched a fine Rufus R. Jones, and iirc, Abdullah the Butcher "Pin anywhere in the building" match one time that was amwazing.

We got that lineup Yail was talking about when I lived in Leavenworth. I lived for that shit on Saturdays.

Oh, shit...Rufus R Jones...haven't heard that name in FOREVER.

The thing I liked about "All Star" was that it was live, & if the hour ended during a match, tough nuts - you just didn't see the end. I always thought that was hilarious.

Man, channel 41 showed so much great stuff back in the day...

I've been watching these old wrestling clips for months and the one thing that always makes me laugh is th WCW Hotline. I want to know what kind of person calls a 900 number that deals with pro-wrestling.

Man, I remember me and my bro talking my mom into this after Wrestlemania III, cos we just HAD to know who won the Steamboat/Savage and Hogan/Andre the Giant matches.

Sir, I am in your debt. That is the fucking COOLEST shit ever. I need to see some Buzz Sawyer crazy rants now. Remember when he got his head shaved? Best on-air freakout ever.

If you guys do a wrestling podblast, I'm fucking calling in.

You mean "Maddog" Buzz Sawyer?!? I mean, talk about a cutter. He and Great Muta had some awesome matches in the late 80s if I recall.

Yeah, be warned, a wrestling podblast could be 5-6 hours ;)

The thing I love about ol Wildfire, aside from his proto-bleached-mullet, and obvious general hickishness, is his flabby-latter day-Larry-Holmes-esque physique. The dude was 22 when he won the NWA Title (6 days in 1981, BITCHES) and he already had the physical appearnce of a 60 year old man.

It cracks me up every time I see him

No shit, eh? Fuck I don't even think he had a signature move, did he? Aside from the flying body slams which as we all know are just crippling. Ol' Harley sure set him straight.

I ran into him a couple years ago in the Hampton, GA post office and he looked almost exactly the same, just a little heavier. Same damn husky voice though.

so I was trying to find a quality picture of SD Jones to put in here and I couldn't find it. But I did, however, find a band that called themselves Special Delivery Jones and they look like this:

how disappointing is that?
