I guess the fact that I have to go to Huntsville, which means I leave the office at 1:00, should cheer me up. It does not.

I can't complain yet; my soon-to-be ex-boss is swinging by my place to pick up some galvanic skin response equipment that I "borrowed" from the lab to play with here at home (I'm still trying to master the subtle art of suppressing physiological arousal in the face of interrogation).

So here I sit drinking coffee and waiting. She's been known to be a couple of hours late, so shucks, I guess I got to wait it out here and the couch.

Time's tickin'

The fact that my job basically entails taking notes on conversations, then foloowing the, up, but my main client cannot or will not ask the questions needed, nor, half the time even dial a phone correctly...somedays it gets to be a bit much.

That's half the problem. In my mind I am already at the beach. So the fact that I am sitting in a room with no windows, doing Got-damn Gar Time....BLECH.

I was just about to start this same thread. I have absolutely NOTHING to do today. Luckily, I have a TV and full cable in my cube, and also thought ahead and brought a book to work with me. (Julian Barnes, A history of the world in 10 and 1/2 chapters)

I like it so far - more like a very loosly related series of short stories than an actual novel. Have you read anything else by Barnes?
