He said "most talented." I think, if you ignore the 35 yr. old QB, Green Bay is the youngest team in the NFL.

he said "most talented" and later retracted that statement in light that everyone in the world knew it was a big fat idiotic lie.

my bad on the misquote.

just for the sake of conversation--do you guys blame the Packers organization for allowing this to happen or what?

I blame Favre for not retiring, and the Packers for letting their receivers leave, and not bolstering their defense.

yeah, Favre should have retired, but he wants to play, and I can't blame him for that...We hired the wrong coach.

the packers aren't going to say, "you've had a good run here, brett. we know you still want to play, but we need to have an offseason where we can concentrate on developing an offense instead of waiting for you to make up your mind, so feel free to go to another team."

I blame the Packers organization for hiring the offensive coordinator for the worst offense in recent history just because he was Favre's QB coach several years ago.

I don't blame Favre so much simply because they could have said straight up that they wouldn't wait for him. Still, the fact that Favre held out making his decision is probably the main reason they lost their experienced center. He'll be paying for that all season.

I can't believe I picked the Packers to be one of the suprise teams this year and actually make the playoffs.
They might be worse than the Texans by the end of the year.

This may be wishful thinking but I actually think the defense played pretty well. Considering the Bears field position most of the game and the fact that they were on the field for nearly the entire first half (due to the offenses inability to gain more than about 30 yards), they should have given up a lot more points. Keeping in mind that one Bear touchdown was a punt return, they only actually gave up one touchdown.

The Bears have the best D in the NFL. No excuse to be shut out if you're Green Bay but the offense showed enough signs of life to convince me that they can win against lesser defenses.

Still, they won't win more than six games but I think they'll be better than last year.

The Bears still have an inexperienced offense that will definately get better as the season progresses. If this were the second meeting between these two teams, those field goals more than likely would've been TDs.

I also question the Bears play calling when they got in the redzone. They got ultra-conservative after Grossman threw the INT, almost like they were happy to settle for field goals.

i'm not worried about that. he joined the 49ers in rebuilding youth mode on offense. it was a tough assignment he wasn't allowed to complete. before that he worked for a new orleans offense that was fairly explosive with brooks, deuce & horn.

mike sherman made a number of bad draft calls as gm/coach that have stymied the pack's hopes, most notably that DE reynolds wash out, picking robert ferguson over chambers and picking ahmad carroll over c.gamble. dumb, dumb, dumb. (and this isn't hindsight. for those last 2 bad picks, i thought they sucked at draft time.) i think his only good pick was javon walker.

ted thompson seems to draft better, as noted by his seattle haul building a superbowl loser, but time will tell. i loved his draft maneuvers in the 2006 draft. only time will tell.

Yes~! Brilliant huh? I think he has been sniffing too much of that lawnmower gas mixture, and doesnt know his ass from a hole in the ground. We can't blame just Favre though, Thompson, the GM, is definitely NOT Ron Wolf. Sure am glad that we locked up that stellar Defender Woodson for the next bunch of years too. Ack...

Will always love the Pack, and still do, but this could be bad.

Troy Smith in '07~!!!!

Farve has been playing a LOT better this year than last. More conservative ball handling, and no chancy tosses. (At least until the 4th quarter, when, if you're behind 26-0, you really SHOULD be taking risks)

The instinctual response is to blame Favre, but would they be better off with Rodgers? No way.

And yes, the D looks OK... not great, but if GB had an offense, that defense could keep them in the game.
