I just got back from browsing a sound recording forum and I'd gotta say:

GOOD LORD are we ever lucky to have such literate posters here on Obner, (excluding, of course, my lack of reading comprehension skills).

From a mod on a forum titled: "Home, Project Studio's"

Quote:
Greetings!

Welcome to the Budget Gear Forum!

After carefull thought and seeing that there is a strong demand that was not directly being addressed, we are starting a new forum here at R.O dedicated to the finance challaged folks that are on the hunt as well as wanting to discuss the topic of inexpensive recording gear.

Here we will have a place where we discuss low cost and down right cheap new or used recording hardware and budget gear that can still get the job done. This is intended specificly to recording hardware only please.

WTF?

This one from England:

To be honest its tough if your building a studio to make a living. I'm probably not going to be able to pay myself for another 6 months.

But what ever you choose to do good luck.

Hum, uh, I would "choose to do good luck", would you?

Music makes one feel so romantic - at least it always gets on one's nerves - which is the same thing nowadays.

She does grammar stuff for a living.

My wife is a Syntax Nazi and a Grammar Troll. Says it's not that HARD to figure the correct use of apostrophes, etc. But she only has a hard time with it when it's printed/published material - books, signs, commercials, newspapers, that sort of thing.

That Eggers novel "You Shall Know Our Velocity" made me cry because it was so bad and there were spelling and grammar errors everywhere. Three on one page did me in and I couldn't believe I was still reading.

Before Dr. Johnson none of that shit mattered.... Wm. Shakespeare, John Donne... were all pretty loose before the victory of dyspepsia and anal retention.

Yeah, he/she missed a comma, but that is far from the worst I've seen, and a lot of posters on this board are worse than that.

More than just a comma, but still not terrible. 12 corrections made and 1 phrase clarification:

Grammar Nazi Wrote:
I have just built, over the last 5 months, a pro studio, but I didn't get any change from £30000.

To be honest, it's tough, if you're operating a home studio, to make a living. I'm probably not going to be able to pay myself for another 6 months.

But, whatever you choose to do, good luck.

Oh yeah, definitely, but I was just referring to the last sentence. That kind of stuff bugs me too. This might be the reason I won the "Most Anal" award in our firm the one year they awarded it.

I actually couldn't spell to save my life. I just bother to check things when I'm unsure.

Mainly it's just funny when you read it and it sounds retarded.
