As far as where I found this...
I put together a willfully eclectic bill at a club here in Chicago back in '00:
It was me (acoustic), MOTO (punk band), a country band, a pop/soul siren, and this guy.
His name is Benn, and he was a pretty cool guy. I found him through a now-deceased site called:

EDIT: Oh, and there is another "electronica" (for lack of a better term, sorry) artist that I like pretty well. He's a hella nice kid from The Netherlands named Ludo and goes by the name
"Multi-Panel". I'll have to bring in some of his stuff for you to hear.
