Ok, 4 episodes of the new season have aired.

Where are they going with this Jim working in the other Dunder Mifflin branch plot line going?

The side plots including him have been boring. His co-workers are boring and I find myself wanting to fast forward thru these scenes.

This is very similar to Malcolm in the Middle, and the oldest brother Francis, and his storyline for the first 5 seasons, that had nothing to do withth eshow for the most part.

i dont like it...otherwise, the show still rules all.

That doesn't even make sense, but I'll let it stand, because I'm in a good mood.

i'm more interested in seeing how he plays with ed helms and quincy jones's daughter than i am in seeing dwight and angela do their will they/they shouldn't dance. and pam is annoying and kind of pitiful. Kevin's still great. i guess that eventually they have to bring back jim to be the glue.

The scenes with him at the convention were pretty funny as were the ones of him playing the shooter game. The girl he works with is totally hot and is going to want him causing a love triangle with Pam.

well, the branches are going to fold into each other, that's pretty much a given.

yeah, i think i can see that.....

i don't know if i like it though.... there are so many great characters in the Scranton branch that I think should get more in depth story lines.... too add 4-5 more characters to the show, will dilute it....

the convention was great.......i was underwhelmed with the whole video game at the desks plot though.

Same as the UK version. They establish the chemistry between Jim and Pam and remove him from the main office for a spell. He's going to get into that other chick, furthering the tensions between him and Pam when he returns. Like Act 2 in a 3 Act play.

My question is this: the UK version had a nice narrative arc and ended at the appropriate time instead of beating a dead horse for season after season. Seems like US version is sticking with this pace, which will leave them with nowhere to go after this season. I mean, the emotional crux of the series is this relationship.

yeah, but I think they've already established them as seperate characters. I don't think they're ever gonna give Stanley his own episode or anything. Besides, since most of the cast is also on the writing staff, I'm wondering if Ed Helms will get to write now. Because I think that would be pretty awesome.

Ed Helms has been great. I like the other branch so far.

Maybe when they merge branches, they could lay off Ryan and Mindy, because those are two of the worst characters in TV history. This show needs MORE CREED.

More Creed, yes - he's the creepy dude in every office. We have a guy here obsessed with chocolate that reminds me of him, only slightly less gross - but I have disturbing images of what he does with his chocolate at home. But Ryan and Kelly? Keep 'em. Kelly's that insufferably moody coworker that everyone works with. The "fashion show at lunch!" thing got me because I swear some of the people I've worked with would have done that. Ryan? Well, he hasn't done much, I have to admit, but I like him nonetheless. I guess they could probably get rid of him and it wouldn't lessen the show much. I just hope all three of the new "other office" characters, especially Ed Helms' character, are kept - he kills me.

agreed. I love the way Ryan hangs his head every time she enters the room.

Not knowing the actors' names...

Ryan and Mindy produce and write the show along with Toby and some others. I guess they could shitcan themselves...

Mindy is the actresses name. the character's name is Kelly.

What's his name made all of the writers sign contracts that they could be used as actors. I think it's worked out incredible well. It's one of the few shows whereI actually get excited over who wrote it.
