The accepted way to show appreciation for that band I was in weekly there was to buy shots of jameson. So for almost three years, every monday night, I'd have 1, 2, maybe 4 shots of it offered to me at some point. I'd always have one, sometimes two, but after that I stole Busty's stage trick of keeping an empty beer behind me on the amp, "taking" the shot, then sneakily spitting it into the beer bottle, looking like I was taking a chaser. Otherwise I'da been fuuugged up.

They also went through all 15 or however many shotglasses they had at that bar quickly, so chances were GOOD that the shot glass it was in was gonna be red-hott from the sanitizer. Nice, hot, irish whiskey. blech.

When I was young, I used to drink Jameson shots with lemon & sugar, like a lemon drop shot. Heartburn came about 15 minutes after one or ten of those.

Last time I drank, it was beer, then makers & seven. Repeat that about 16 times with a shot of tequila around 2am and you have my drinking routine. Phew.

I once bought my alcoholic scotch-loving ex-husband a $140 bottle of scotch for his birthday one year... johnny blue, maybe? laphroig? I don't remember. Anyway, he drank it in two days. Two.days. yeah.

Most inappropriate slogan ever.

I drink Jameson & club soda, but recently I've switched to scotch.

Jameson & Scotch

My answers:
1) It's better than drinking crappier whiskey with Diet Coke.
2) There's nothing silly about putting ice in Jameson or any other whiskey.
3) Jameson is the most boring of the commonly available (in the U.S.) irish whiskeys. I give credit to PoD for introducing me to Tullamore Dew, which has more bite and more flavor. Mm.

yeah, the tullamore has a bit of a honey flavor...it goes great in a hot tottie a.k.a. the greatest cold remedy ever.

I don't get the honey flavor at all. Maybe it's the chronic sinusitis. I do taste oak and peat though.

Tullamore Dew is a fave.

Jameson has been our fuel on tour for the last two weeks, as well Balvenie, Chivas, Glenlivet and Bushmill.

Just finished a late supper: grecian pork chops, baked potato, house salad (w/ oil & vinegar... usually, I'm a no dressing man, though), & steeled my stomach for it with a White Russian & an Irish Car-bomb. The Car-bomb, surprisingly, was quite good. (It was my first.)
