I felt the whole hospital sway back and forth. I'm stuck here at work. Limited power now, even cell phones are out.

Internet still online though...

Stay tuned.

That's odd -- there's no report on the news about it.

Just announced over the radio: 6.5 magnitude at 07:08 a.m. local time, no tsunami expected.

...aaaaand even the gas pumps around the island are off for now.

Da Bears play Monday night, remember? To hell with everyone else, including the University Of Hawaii as far as I'm concerned.

Looks like you had two quakes -- a 4.9'er and the one you mentioned.

No significant damage reported so far...just some boulders (!) along some of the roads here.

Yeah, not surprisingly this is the first thing that was reported on the radio.

We've got flash flood warnings now, so really...not great surfing weather now.

I've just heard reports that there has been some structural damage on the island of Hawaii and some people getting stuck in elevators but no injuries or fatalities reported. Apparently the quake struck 6 miles off the northwest coast of the big island.

This dude I used to work for would pronounce it "Hi-Why-Ah"

I always here his voice and chuckle. Kinda crazy, hope everything is OK where you are, though.

That was the best day in Obner history.

You should drink more often.

6 miles off the coast is CLOSE. Damnation.
