Why do some mp3 files just refuse to work in iTunes? I go and try to import the files to my iTunes library, and there is no error message or anything, even gives me the little 'processing' status bar, but the files just don't ever show up. The files aren't corrupted either; they work in Windows Media Player. What gives?

this new iTunes is full of all sorts of bugs.

After finally going through the painstaking ordeal of getting it to finally install, today when i try to open it, it just won't open. Restarting my computer will almost definitely fix it, but i shouldnt have to restart my computer to get this big piece of bloatware to work.

I am having issues as well.

1. Album art. I can manually load about 1 cover before it just stops working, until it's rebooted. No more than 1. That 1 works great, but the same process just results in a blank stare the second try, every time.

2. Memory / CPU usage. This thing, between songs, is doing SOMETHING that makes every other program stop dead in its tracks for about 10 seconds. Cursors stop blinking, spreadsheets don't respond, etc. Aaaangry.

I Task Mgr'd it, and killed ITunes Helper and the iPod Helper, and it improved a tiny, tiny bit.

WTF?!

edit: But if I manually start another song before one ends, no problem. Guh?

the new itunes is a piece of shit. I fucking hate it.

Incidentally, does anyone use the same ipod on both a Mac and a PC? Is this possible? My girlfriends' is mac formatted (she uses one at work), but when I plug it in to the PC at home I can't add anything to it.

I like a few things about it (which are either new or I just noticed them). But it feels like it swelled to 18x its previous size.

Which version are you using?

I just clean out Registry and re-install when some 'techy' stuff starts screwing up. Don't forget to check the part that asks, 'Do you want to save your music library?'

I gave up my Pod player a long time ago but I still remember one possible solution they gave me when mine decided it has a mind of it's own. If the audio for movies plays through the headphones and you see "Now Playing" on the iPod screen with a progress bar, but the video does not appear on the iPod screen, then you may have the tv out video setting turned on. So navigate on your iPod to Videos then Video settings and select TV Out to set it to Off or Ask.

Wow - are all you folks having trouble with iTunes PC users? I've had no problems at all with this new version.

Yup.
Got so bad I turned it off and used the $7,000 in-ceiling stereo. :nono:

They thought it was a great idea to package in the iPod update software into iTunes whether you have an iPod or not. As an iPod owner you uses anapod to transfer files, my feelings on this are mixed.

My biggest beef is that iTunes is making its users more dependent on it for transfer. Could be just a compatibility issue with Anapod.

My guess is that Apple will progressively turn itues into an 'all-things', 'be-it-all' user intensive software. And no doubt compatibility issues will crop up, a lot of my friends already switched back to v6.0 after upgrading.
So far I'm sticking with this new version. *Knock on software.*

My iPod's album art is all scrambled. And it's retarded when it's on shuffle - it just skips songs randomly and i can't just flick through and put on a song I want to listen to. It has a mind of its own. I give up.
