It's like he decided it's late '86 and he needs a nice follow-up to Element Of Light. The creepy-honest folk of last year's album (which is still awesome, by the way) is jetisoned, not to mention 20 years of non-Egyptian-y stuff. And back come the fish, crustaceans and whatnot.

So, very good album, but a bit weird that it sounds so pre-Frogs Feggie.

Indeed? I may need to check this out. If you're lying to me, and this turns out to be another crap album, I'll hunt you down and roast your entrails.

Keep in mind I've only heard songs from the album on my Launchcast station and don't yet own it, so it's not like I've listened to it straight through yet. The tracks seemed very Egyptian-y, not as pristine-slick as post-Globe of Frogs early-mid 90's stuff, but not as dark as his most recent album.

Maybe I'll think differently on more thorough listen. Dunno yet.
