Michael Jackson begins work on new material
Black Eyed Peas are set to help out

Michael Jackson has started work on new material with Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am.

The pair are currently working in a studio in Ireland, reports accesshollywood.com.

Jackson hasn't released a studio album since 2001's Invincible', though he reportedly wrote a song intended to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina last September. The track was set to be released on Two Seas Records - the label owned by Prince Abdulla Hamad Alkhalifa of Bahrain - but it was never released.

Jackson has a one album deal with the label, and a release is expected late next year.

The Black Eyed Peas?

Not exactly the holy grail of collaborators.

The dude probably still has an enormous non-US fanbase, so putting out new material is a smart move.

Yeah, even if the album only sells 4-hundred thousand in North America, it will sell several million around the planet. I won't be one of them, but there'll be a whole bunch of Kato, Shalib and Mugabwai-named people that scarf it up.

Getting new material out must be preferable to him to sitting around hearing people like Nancy Grace howl about how he "bought his children."

I just spent the last two weeks in a van barreling around the east coast listening to Michael Jackson, rediscovering. So, this is devastating. I forgot for a moment how shit he became.

MJ should light up a bag of Mary J and hunker down with Lee "Scratch" Perry, not will i.am.

Do a 20-minute version of "Bad Weed" maybe.

Yeah, I saw that in the record store the other day. But it's already four days old. I need a newer one.
