So I'm off to one in a few minutes. I've had 3 beers and smoked some weed and I'm bringing 3 cans of Sparks Black.

This should be funny.

Movies they're showing
Last House On The Left
Equinox
Night Of The Comet
Vampire Circus
The Gate
An American Werewolf In London

The 3 cans of Sparks might help.

Speaking of horror films. Anyone in a city where 8 Films to Die For is being played?

I'd go but I don't know if it's gonna be near me.

I can see this at either a ghetto southside theatre or the tourist trap theatre on Michigan Ave. Dang.

It does look awesome, and I will definitely be there. Probably at the tourist trap theatre.

I kinda slept for a bit through Night Of The Comet, which I thought sucked the first time I saw it. I wish they'd shown Night Of The Creeps instead. I took another nap during The Gate, about which I feel the same way. They showed a bunch of trailers between the movies, of which I though Deadly Weapons was the best, along with a few Simpsons halloween specials. It kind of ended around 10am-ish but they were showing some new B&W silent film which was made to look as if it was an old 1930's movie and it looked boring so I left. Then I came home and watched some of Shaun Of The Dead and I'm still up. People are moving out of my house so I don't know if I'm gonna be able to sleep.

Are they showing all 8 in a row?

i hated last house on the left, what was with all the graphic rape scenes in 70s horror flicks?
to anyone who hasn't seen it, i just watched this italian flick "zombie" and it was awesome. it finally answers the age old question: who wins in a head to head match-up between zombie and shark?

I'll be there to check this out. Are you anywhere close to these locations?

Alexandria - AMC Hoffman Center 22
Hampton - Hampton Towne Center 24
Richmond - Commonwealth 20 Theatres
Virginia Beach - Lynnhaven 18
Woodbridge - Potomac Mills 18

Booo. That Call of Cthulhu flick is awesome; I've got it on DVD.

I'm pretty interested in a few of the movies in the 8 Films to Die For lineup, but they're not going to be playing anywhere near me. The Abandoned, in particular, grabs me: Richard Stanley, who made Dust Devil, and Nacho Cerda, who directed the holy-fucking-shit-I'm-gonna-be-sick Aftermath? SOLD.

I saw about 5 minutes of it and decided I'd rather leave on an up note (An American Werewolf In London) than risk the chance of falling asleep in the theatre. Maybe I can rent it on netflix.

It's over a weekend. The 17-19 of November I believe.

I am near Va Beach and Hampton sort of. I may try and go. I just hate going to these things alone and I hardly know anyone who is remotely interested in the commercial releases of horror films, let alone ones that are normally too gory and what not for a proper theater release. Definitely post about which ones are worthy.

I tend to be a sucker for previews and am a complete typical consumer in that sense. I can be wowed by just about any preview. It's sad.
