i havent heard most of lou reed's stuff, but I have heard some, and this record has got to be the best of his career, and easily tops a lot of his velvet underground stuff.

Not usually a popular choice, but I still love New York.

I like it, but always get kinda bothered by the song about Kennedy. I like the music, but get annoyed with the whole vcult of Kennedy thing that seems so big in this society.

My favorite Lou Reed albums are Berlin, Transformer and Coney Island Baby.

New York was good too. Saw that tour and it was fantastic. He set the stage like New York street scenes and played the entire album from start to finish. Then, he took an intermission and went in reverse chronological order of his career, finishing up with a few Velvet Underground songs.

I picked this up a while ago on vinyl. Pretty good, but some of the lyrics are a bit cringe-inducing. I still go with Transformer as his best solo album.
