I think the song is called "Step by Step". It's a bad 80's song that was I think Top 40 country or it could've been regular top 40.

The verse is something like "first step, something, something, something".

One of the lines is "4th step, take her in you arms and never let her go"

chours: 'And don't ya know, step by step, you'll win her love".

Horrible but is was being sung by a relative at lunch today and an argument ensued as to who sang it.

I'm saying it was Saywer Brown.

He says Ronnie Milsap.

Another says Alabama. (I KNOW it's not this one)

Come on people. There is a Coke Zero on the line.

Sounds like Hall & Oates problem to me.

I know who it is but I do this shit for a living. Someone else guess.

Hint: his beard was goofy-looking, but very well-groomed and he had an extra "t" in his name than is necessary.

Plus he could possibly have shtumpted Crystal Gayle at some point, possibly.

Also, he's dead.

That is unless you clicked on Spade's link, I guess. Then it's moot.

If you're all wrong, does Spade get the Coke Zero?

Let me just say, betting on a song identification & the winner getting a Coke Zero... I bet that's more fun than LooGAR's bachelor party.

I'm serious.

Eddie Rabbitt also wrote "Kentucky Rain", which is one of my favorite Elvis songs.

We found an awesome cassette at the store warehouse in the boombox, called Solid Gold 16.

Highlights include 'Lady In Red', 'Addicted To Love', 'Manic Monday', 'Who Can It Be Now?', and more.

The cd player doesn't work, we don't have any other cassettes and we've decided it's actually better than listening to the radio.

Someone should start a charitable foundation on your behalf.

I've got this fuzzy, amped-out memory of being in a trailer with Eddie Rabbitt behind the Palomino in the Valley in the late 70's. Every Which Way You Can was just released and Clint was there with 300 reporters. Sondra Locke sang with Eddie, although they seemed to be in different keys. Or maybe I was...
