We had the tv on one of those music stations because we had a sort of impromtu party. Dido came on and it said that her hit was released in 1999. Really? Damn, the last 7 years have gone by in an instant. Made me feel like I'm gonna wake up tomorrow and be Harry or something.

The Strokes first album came out over five years ago.

Unsettling.

No Angel was released in 1999, but Eminem's sample of it didn't get big until mid-2000. And then her actual song got big a few months after that.

"Thank You" actually appeared on the Sliding Doors soundtrack in 1997, but she didn't have an album out.

I had one of these moments with Midnite Vultures recently. I lived in ATHENS when that came out...

Where DOES the time go?

Strangely, as it happens, you and I have the same twenty-four hours every day. The weight of my days makes today pretty light.

I fucking love my life and things I've seen, done, and survived...I've no right to be still alive...this is all borrowed time.

I was working in a chain store when this one came out. This was "on the wall" for over a year.

This whole thread is a PopTodd moment.
Yesterday I was 21.
Today I'm 36.

I'll be dead tomorrow.

I thought it took like 2.5 years for Dido's song to make it to radio to become a hit.
