The only two bad games the Bears have had against the run were Miami and NYG.

Frank Gore had 32 yards rushing at halftime, and the game was completely out of hand. Basically any yards he had in the second half were garbage time yards and meant nothing.

NYJ had 108 yards, 28 of which came on a WR reverse. Their RBs had 29 carries for 80 yards, or 2.7 per carry. So just saying THEY HAD 108 YARDS RUSHING!!! is completely misleading.

Barber and Ronnie Brown shreaded us, there's no defending that. And LT is easily the best back in the league, but I'm still not scared of the Chargers. The only reason Rivers is looking as good as he is are because of those two initials. And their defense is in shambles. Merriman is a cheat and a disgrace.

Teams like the Eagles (when McNabb is not hurt), the Bucs of 2000-2003, the Panthers of the last few seasons, the Broncos, the Colts and especially the Patriots have had consistently winning teams for several seasons in a row. I'm not talking about doing this for 7-8-9 years, I'm talking about having a 3-4 year plan. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. The Broncos, for example, follow the exact model I envision for the Bears - lock up a great o-line and it doesn't matter who you throw back there.

But really the Patriots never dominated in the way that the old dynasty Cowboys, Niners, Packers did. They were a tough break here or a tuck rule there away from getting knocked out of the playoffs every year.

You'll have to clarify this a bit more for me. The Pats won 21 straight games for god's sake. I guess I kind of see that as domination. Not to mention 14 straight wins in '03.

There you go, ruining my opinions with your "facts."

Anyway, you're right. But part of my point is that the Pats never at any point said, "Well we might only have 3-4 years left with this defense and Brady at his peak, so let's sign some big free agents and try to win a couple more now."

It's ok. It's probably the first time I have used real facts since I have posted on Obner.

Yeah, and after five games, Rex's passer rating was 100.8. IT'S BEEN FIVE GAMES.

After watching a bunch of NFL play this weekend, I realized that the NFC will be pulling a huge upset if they win the Super Bowl. I can't imagine the Bears or Cowboys beating the Ravens or Chargers, they better hope the Colts win it and choke big time.

As glad as I am that they finally got rid of Vanderjoke, they managed to sign possibly the only other living kicker I like LESS. Ugh.

BRING BACK RICHIE CUNNINGHAM...or TIM SEDER, for that matter.

Maybe we can re-sign Rafael Septien, so long as Chris Hansen doesn't check the transaction wire.

I groaned yesterday when during the game they announced the Pats had re-signed Ken Walter.
