Regarding Jim Noir

I am hearing the love for this guy in different, unrelated places of the internets.

Opinions wanted. RIYL? Perhaps an YSI of a mp3 please?

The only thing I know about him is that his song played during those awesome soccer commercials, during the World Cup in Germany, with the two little boys who pick teams and among the players are Beckham, Kaka, etc.

Great song by the way.

It's melodic, harmonizing retro-pop a la Beach Boys. I quite like it but must warn that the lyrics are pretty silly.

I don't really hear the Beach Boys influence all that much but I really like this, thanks. If anything, it's saturated with late era Beatles which is a positive.

I'm adding it to my lala wishlist.

its silly but i really like it. super pop, some super furries, love the electronic noises. very repetitive, but its good in that way (a la Lemon Jelly)

Jim Noir songs are like me running after the bus - i.e an impressive opening burst of energy that quickly fades after 10 seconds only to end up gasping for air, not looking that good and going absolutely nowhere.

While I don't agree with this assessment being applicable to Jim Noir, I'll be damned if that's still not one of the funniest things I've read on the board this year. The visual of puffy Frew desperately trying to catch a bus is GOLD, JERRY, GOLD!

This proves my point in my old PM to you K. However, I disagree in that most of that album is enjoyable to me.
