a balaclava to keep that noggin warm.

While waiting for the train this morning, I thought of walking back home and getting my balaclava. I look like a criminal when I wear it and it makes my hair look like I'm homeless, but damn, does that thing keep me warm...

Isn't it a little sticky though?

Oh Lord. I am horrified. I was literally going to post the EXACT same thing. *sigh*

My son was extremely upset that his school district was one of the few that didn't have school closings this morning. He went nuts about it for two hours, and trying to get him dressed and fed, the baby fed, me dressed turned into a giant ordeal.

Plus I can't see for crap when it's snowing or raining out when driving so I was pissed I had to drive in it-but once I hit the Eisenhower things were fine and moved quickly.

But my kid still melted down right up into school. He absolutely didn't want to go. I felt awful but stood tough.

Needless to say I'm exhausted since the baby has been teething all week and I don't know what sleep is anymore.

I'm not leaving my home all day, though at least the snow has started to let up and the sun has arrived.

No snow yet here in the Plains, but it is damn cold. I got paid today, and so far it is the only good thing about today. I'm freaking tired and I have a long work weekend. I'm just glad it makes me money for the holidays.

I just woke up because I had already scheduled the day off.

I'm supposed to drive to Minneapolis later today so, uh, that should be time-consuming.

We were suppsed to get 5-8" here, but it was too warm so it just rained a lot and feels shitty outside.
Day off for me, and if I didn't have a chiro app't at 2 I'd have no reason to leave these 4 walls.

I just finished shoveling 14 inches of snow off my long-ass driveway. It's time to bust out the pizza pizazz and watch some dvds!

I got an e-mail earlier today that our Chicago branch was closed today, due to inclement weather. It must be pretty nasty for CHICAGO to think it's bad weather.

It's not that bad outside! People are wusses, I think. I went out at lunch and the streets and sidewalks were clear and cabs were back to driving like assholes.

no, it's just the first snowfall. schools were being closed last night in preparation. i think that was ultimately the right call, but the first snow of a season always gets people overreacting. we'll be back to normal by the next one. is your chicago branch actually in chicago or a suburb? i could see a place being closed where the weather was worse, but everything in town is fine.

I think we're just getting rain instead of snow. Though I heard we might get snow monday.

Not to rub it in or anything but it's an absolutely gorgeous sunny day here with a nice breeze flowing, highs of around 85 F.

Life could be worse.

It's hard to say who has it better -- you or beachy.

Oh, wait...beachy doesn't have to empty bedpans all day long.

(just kidding, Rami)

The city is fine it always gets tended to first, my family lives in all different burbs and my mom's part had it the worst. It was really crappy out that way.

Actually, the eisenhower was oddly enough easier to drive on the side streets of Oak Park this morning. I saw two accidents within three blocks in Oak Park. And I almost spun out myself into one. The streets were a flippin mess out there.

i have been absolutely loving the brisk weather lately. on my commutes today, i stood near the doors and let the cold air hit me as the doors opened at each stop. something about it was extremely refreshing. good times...
