I'd have to agree with you there. I guarantee its better than the Joanna Newsome record though.

We are taking this moment to address an issue that has been plaguing us ever since this album came out, namely, that it sucks. We are particularly strongly reminded of its suckage in this moment, when we see “Emily” in the top-ten company of genuinely awesome tracks by Clipse, Hot Chip, and TV On the Radio.

Any publication that allows these words to be included in a review automatically becomes null and void with me. True, I've used them to describe records, but I'm not a professional writer either. Also, I know this isn't a review but rather a blog posting, but still...

Yeah, even though it is technically a blog, it just seems harsh and un-pro to have the editorial "we" saying something sucks.

I posted a comment on that article just because I thought it was funny.

I don't care about Pitchfork or RS in the least.

And because I have heard half a track off the album I'd have to say I don't really care about Ms. Newsom either.

shitsandwich.

Interesting that one who enjoys albums like YS, Rehearsing My Choir, and Drum's Not Dead is often called posturing indie scenester even if one might be a 40 year old Baptist rural dude like myself who wouldn't know the first think about all that. While it's fine to deeply dislike these albums, it's not correct to assume everyone who does like them only does so for hipster brownie points.

I love everyone who clicked on this thread just to say how much they don't care about the things in it.

Pitting the two against each other is silly.

But were we to go on singles list alone:

P-Fork Top 10 Songs:
1. Justin Timberlake - My Love
2. The Knife - Silent Shout
3. T.I. - What You Know
4. TV On The Radio - Wolf Like Me
5. Peter Bjorn and John - Young Folks
6. The Clipse - Trill
7. Hot Chip - Boy From School
8. Beach House - Apple Orchard
9. Joanna Newsom - Emily
10. Christian Falkft. Robyn and Ola Salo - Dream On

RS Top 10 Songs:
1. Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
2. Racontuers - Steady As She Goes
3. Chamillionaire ft. Krazie Bone - Ridin'
4. T.I. - What You Know
5. The Pack - Vans
6. Bob Dylan - Thunder On The Mountain
7. Lily Allen - Smile
8. Clipse ft. Slim Thug - Wamp Wamp (What It Do)
9. Wolfmother - Dimension
10, Goldfrapp - Ooh La La

I gotta give this particular battle to Rolling Stone. Even if just for "Vans."

That's the point I was (unsuccessfully) trying to make above about how all the comments on the Rolling Stone website were about how Rolling Stone sucks.

If you don't have something bad to say, don't say anything at all.

I love this song.

I have never heard a note from Joanna Newsom.

I could be down to dress up as a Gnome and get fairytale freaky with her though.

She's not exactly trying to be non-polarizing. She puts out a record where her voice is substantially less bizarre than on the previous one, but then doubles the length of the songs.

Which can be aggravating or awesome, depending on who's listening.

it's not hard to believe at all, and is in fact very true.
