I bought this when it came out, and remeber loving the first track, crystal, but wasn't that impressed with the rest of the album...but i dug this up recently and I'm really enjoying it. It's no Power, Corruption, & Lies, but I like it.

Any thoughts

It's half a good album. There's maybe 5 or 6 really good to great tracks but the rest are not so hot.

I awarded it a 6.8 Konstantirating for those that care (ie nobody). So probably a Top 30 album that year.

At the time I remember liking it, but I haven't listened to it in a pretty long time.

I agree. About half the album is good. Good God though, I had *hoped* Bernard Sumner had taken some writing classes between that one and previous releases. His lyrics are lame.

Ugh, and I cringe whenever I hear crybaby Billy Corgan these days.

I went through something similar. When I got it, I was extremely disappointed in it -- only listened to it once. I remember it being very guitarsy.

But then one day they were playing something in the store, and it was not guitarsy...I mean, it was, but it was also very synthpoppy, in fact, it was quite the perfect blend, I remember thinking, whatever this is, it is clearly superior to much of what I've been listening to. Found out it was Get Ready.

Sort of the way Wet From Birth hit me.
