...about the election and all, i just can't be. today is possibly the happiest day of my life because i found out i am going to be a father. i know it is way too early to be telling people, but you all are not real so it doesn't count, right?

Congratulations--fatherhood is the greatest thing in the world. I've done it twice (yeah, that's my second son as my avatar).

With my first, I remember going in for the ultrasound around the 20th week. Left work early and headed to the clinic. Absolutely amazing. You could see him yawn and move his arms. Found out the baby was a boy and I planned on sending an e-mail the next day at work. The next day at work was September 11, 2001.

I understand the mixture of emotions.
