Meh, the only Ipswich that matters is the Brisbane suburb.

Security City, baby!

Just back from the game, I hope one day that my voice will come back, hopefully for the final!

Motherwell 3-2 Hearts

Motherwell booked their place at the CIS Insurance Cup final with a thrilling extra time victory.

Terry Butcher's side appeared on course for a comfortable win when Stephen Craigan headed them in front and Richie Foran added a late penalty.

But substitutes Mark Burchill and Hjalmar Thorarinsson rescued Hearts with strikes in the final five minutes of regulation time.

However, Marc Fitpatrick shot in a dramatic winner in the dying seconds.

The Fir Park side will now face either Rangers or Dundee United at Hampden on 7 March in what will be their first League Cup final for 50 years.

Motherwell started brightly and created a decent opening after five minutes when Hammell released McDonald into the penalty box but goalkeeper Craig Gordon pounced off his line to smother at the striker's feet.

Hearts then came close when Neil MacFarlane flicked on to Dennis Wyness but he sent a thunderous drive just wide of the post from inside the area.

Motherwell squandered a great opportunity when Kevin McBride set up Foran but he failed to connect properly with the header from just four yards.

The ball fell kindly to the feet of McDonald but the Australian was slow to react and the danger was cleared.

However, the Lanarkshire side took the lead after 20 minutes.

An inswinging free-kick from Hammell picked out Craigan at the back post and his header left Gordon with no chance.

Hearts pushed men forward in search of an equaliser and Wyness saw his shot blocked, while Paul Hartley could only fire the rebound well over.

Hartley was involved again when his point-blank shot produced a good block from goalkeeper Gordon Marshall.

Motherwell were denied an increased advantage when Gordon was at full-stretch to tip over Hammell's free kick.

And Hearts were unfortunate not to be level minutes before the interval when Martyn Corrigan somehow managed to hook a Wyness shot off the line.

Hearts were out of the blocks quickly after the restart and could have been back on level terms but Hartley's long, low drive deflected just wide of the upright.

He then managed to squeeze a free-kick through the Motherwell defensive wall before the ball broke to Lee Miller but his header was blocked by Marshall.

The veteran Well keeper then managed to dive low to turn a Hamill drive past the post.

And on 77 minutes it looked certain Motherwell would be progressing to the final when McDonald was hauled down in the box by Jamie McAllister and Foran tucked away the penalty.

But Hearts refused to give up and they pulled a goal back in the 85th minute.

Stephen Simmons flighted a free-kick into the box and it was met by loan signing Burchill who bundled it over the line to set up a nail-biting finale.

And Thorarinsson met a Hartley cut-back to bullet the equaliser past Marshall from 10 yards to send the tie into extra-time.

Hearts were the stronger side in the additional 30 minute period, which was littered with fouls.

But it was Motherwell who prevailed when Fitzpatrick slotted home in the final extra minute.
