this is really too bad. i mean, what decent programming does the cbc have anymore? i like ideas, and on the tv i really like the national and the documentaries, but thats it. i used to watch the hour the last two seasons, but ever since george got the audience he's be pandering to them non-stop, not to mention bringing the same guests back to talk about the same subjects (stephen lewis, for one).

It's the Strombolopoulisation of the CBC. As far as I understand, they did a pretty despicable job of phasing out what was a Canadian musical institution, without the courtesy of a second thought. And, sadly, Brave New Waves simply faded away, definitely the only really important radio show in my lifetime.
