"Wooly Bully" Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs ...heh heh

and

a bunch of songs on the Beach House record

and

it's not quite a count in but the "Is she really going out with him?" part in the Damned's "New Rose".

Second-worst ever is "A Matter of Trust" by Billy Joel.

"Bullet" by the Misfits.

Shit, Springsteen has made a career out of it; "Born To Run" wins the day on this one though.

A Shangri Las reference--there's been a lot of those.

The New York Dolls and Ryan Adams have both paid trib to "When I say I'm in love, you best believe I'm in love L-U-V" from "Give Him A Great Big Kiss." "Close, very very close" from Sonic Youth's "Little Trouble Girl" is taken from the same song.

The original song contains my favorite Shangri Las dialogue:

"What color are his eyes?"
"I don't know, he's always wearing shades."
"Is he tall?"
"Well, I gotta look up."
"Yeah, well I hear he's bad."
"Mmmm, he's good/bad, but he's not evil."

Oh yeah, and the Beatles' "You Never Give Me Your Money" as well. Not sure if those count (heheh) though. I mean, there's counting, but it's not really a count off.

Just thought of a great one:

Maybe not a "count-down" per se, but you gotta give a shout out to The Big Bopper's
"Helllllo Baybeee!!!"
