maybe it's just in chicago, but it seems like the venues have jumped dramatically since his last tour. he played two nights last fall at a 700ish-capacity auditorium and now is playing at a 2300-seat theater.

How is the live show?
Worth the rare, so rare night out?

I don't think Sokol Underground in Omaha holds more than 450 or that is what the written capacity is for it.
It is the basement of an old auditorium that reminds of a VFW or Knights of Columbus hall.

Damn. I think I'm gonna have to try to go. Wife loves the album, too. We'll have to see if we can get a sitter.

It's funny though, because every time we go out -- ESPECIALLY if it's to see a band -- Cary gets all pissy that he can't go to the show, too. He's dying to get out to the clubs already, at 7. I'm gonna have to watch that kid.

Yay Andrew Bird! I am going to see him at coachella too.

I want to make a big sign that says "Please play 'A nervous tic motion of the head to the left.'"

Spoken like a man who has never before had to deal with a sleep-deprived 7-year-old (and his 5-year-old brother).
The crabbiness lasts for WEEKS, not just a day or two. Man,
Frosting... back me up on this one.

EDIT: Because, believe me, I would love to. I think they'd both have al ball. We're probably gonna do Cheap Trick at Ravinia over the summer as their intro.
