This thread is a place holder for when everybody finally flips out over this band.

Sounds to my ears sorta like the New Pornographers meet the Foo Fighters. In other words: male and female vocals, big guitars, and even bigger hooks.

Here's an mp3 download from their site (definitely NOT the best song on the album, but hey, it's the one they chose): Cameras On

You can hear samples of every song on the album at their site.

Saw them open for Sloan here in Saskatoon. I liked 'em immediately. They put on a good show, too.

Listened to the first 3 songs. They were okay, but I'm not gonna run out and buy the album.

bump (CUZ IK GOOG)

I've been playing this album all week (in random play with the Broken West) and it just keeps sounding better. I wish I'd put it on my Top 20 of '06 - just to see it get that big shiny single point at around #498 of the Shmoople.

Here's my fave song (for now), a hook-laden power pop gem called, somewhat unfortunately, "Cigreregrettes":

I'm surprised it never took off, actually.

I missed this thread the first time but it sounds like something I might like.

You know Ed, I really wonder what happened to the band? Why'd you guys break up anyway?

Your devotion to Rads & the gang is borderline homo Charlie.

It's okay but i am not going to rush out and buy it. Is that better?

So, what, bumping an old thread about a band is equivalent to creating 30 identical threads about a band?

But you're right about the pro-tools. The album is produced within an inch of its life, big and artificial and glossy - which is why I likened it to Foo Fighters and the New Porns. Not everything has to sound like a loser crying in his bedroom.

Haha, no it was more to do with the championing of poor pop/punk/rock music.

Hell i don't care what you like, it's usually all good with me, but i have to stick my neck out with this rubbish.

Damn, Lee Morgan sounds like a loser crying in a bedroom. I might use that riyl.

I am intrigued by the New Porn reference, but does anyone sound LIKE the foo fighters?
